Desmond Reid

Desmond Reid brings over four decades of construction experience, leading Bar Construction with a focus on strong teams, efficient execution, and reliable project delivery.

After arriving in the U.S. in the 1980s, Desmond co-founded a NYC construction company that grew into a 100-person masonry and concrete operation. In 1992, he established the foundation of Bar Construction, focusing on corporate interiors, medical facilities, and high-end residential projects.
Under his leadership, the firm has completed hundreds of projects on time and on budget. He is known for assembling skilled teams and overseeing every phase of construction, with notable clients including Springer Science + Business Media and the 80,000 SF Vice Media headquarters in Brooklyn.

Anthony Coen

Vice President

Tony Coen brings decades of hands-on construction leadership to Bar Construction, overseeing projects from concept through completion with a focus on precision, coordination, and quality.

After emigrating from Ireland, Tony began his career in New York City and joined Bar Construction as co-president in 2004. With a background in Mechanical Engineering and Construction Management, he leads estimating, client coordination, and quality control across all projects.
Under his leadership, Bar Construction has delivered hundreds of projects, including a 130,000 SF logistics center, a 20,000 SF surgical center, and numerous high-end residential renovations. He is known for his practical expertise, direct engagement, and consistent delivery of high-quality work with attention to detail.
